Ethiopia News 07.07.2021

Last week Saturday we received a confirmation of the requested funding from the MERCK Family Foundation. We will be funded for the next 3 years with a total of 123,000 €. But this does not mean that everything is covered. Parts of this money will go into already existing programs and thus support the funding by Begegnung e.V. in Dresden, but other parts are new projects to be paid for, such as a cash fund for self-help groups. We would like to continue to focus on help self-help.
 
Next week we will have internal interviews for 2 new positions in the organization, one for a social worker and one for a new daycare manager (before that Enat was senior daycare worker which was about the same). These two positions are needed due to lack of care for parents in their social environment and jobs. Since we have to cut one class (Gete and Mihret) and this will free 2 staff members, we decided that 2 new positions will be advertised.
 
We are currently revising manuals of the organization in Ethiopia and Senait also needs strength and wisdom to make decisions without me all the time.
