Now that we are finally back, we can observe well how everyone is getting along in their new position. It is great to see and feel the new passion. Due to the change from 4 to 3 classes, 5 employees have received a promotion and are now working in a higher position. It was important to us to give long-time employees the chance to take on more responsibility and the opportunity for a higher position. Of course, that includes providing better mentoring and training to anyone who moves up and doesn't have those years of experience. But for this very reason (and many more) we now have a Kitachefin, Elleni, as far as Kita employees are concerned.
We have interviews next week with 5 applicants for the project manager position, 3 women and 2 men, and 2 applicants for the pediatric nurse position.
On Monday this week we had a Montessori training conducted by Julia. We had our staff and 12 others from government schools where our children are now visiting. I think the training was very successful and it was well attended. At the end there was a time for talking and asking questions which led to good discussions. The teachers of the government schools have a very different mentality than our staff, so exchange is very good.
A woman with 3 children who settled in a self-built corrugated iron hut with her husband in our neighborhood last year was now sent to us by the office that sends our new mothers. When Enat us Tsehay visited her, she said she had no husband and no job. We Bodes unfortunately saw otherwise, since she was pregnant by him again just last year. We often experience situations like this. It is good to know that Enat and Tsehay ask good questions and find out such things before we include them in the project.
