Our Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has personally gone to "the front" to lead his military. This caused a movement of many to follow his example. In Addis, there is already talk of victories over towns like Dessie and Kombolcha, but this is not officially confirmed.
On November 15, we had a great staff day. These days are usually filled with "team building" games, a spiritual input and prayer time with worship, a topic or two that we discuss together, good food and coffee, and in the afternoon usually group discussions about different things. This time we came up with a team challenge where everyone named one of their weaknesses and strengths and said in front of everyone what they would like to accomplish by the next staff day. The next day, one of our guards came into the office and said he signed right up for the course he had always wanted to take. Success!
Yesterday, a team from the government came to our project to do a project monitoring that was announced on short notice. Nunyat was super prepared and spoke at length with the team. They were all positively excited about how much of what was discussed in the last evaluation has already been implemented. But what I liked best was the feedback on the occupational therapist: when I explained why we need her and also how others would benefit from her, they were surprised that she does not have a work permit yet.
